Destroyed Kitchens and Cha, Cha, Cha, Changes!!!

I am getting a new kitchen. I have a wonderful neighbor who just happens to be a carpenter. He was on a job where he took out solid oak cabinets. He filled his truck up with them and brought them home to us. it took him three trips. There are soooo many cabinets. What a nice man thinking of us. We will have a beautiful kitchen by the time we are done with everything. My son, hubby, and soon-to-be son-in law have all ready put the cabinets up and this weekend the staining begins. I am very excited. I love taking something someone thought was ugly or no longer useful and making it into something beautiful.
My son tearing out cabinets.
Under my cabinets we found the most unuseal patterens. My house was built in 1931. Well, it was moved to this properity in 1931. It used to be just one room. Then they added a bathroom and bedroom. Several years later they added another bedroom and a frontroom.  Later on they dug out the basement, fruit room and additional bedroom. My house is all pieced together.

I even found out I had double counter tops. So strange. I can't wait for the finished room.

Changes......
Today was my last day at the school I have worked at for the past several years. I am going to another school in the same district to work in a Behavior Unit. I was previously in Functional Skills and I loved that, but this is my true love. Dealing with the kids others have given up on. The difficult behaviors. Time consumers.... I love it. I can't wait. I start Monday. I am honored to move into this classroom and work with such awesome people. So here's to changes, may they ever increase your knowledge, challenge your abilities and scare you just a bit!!!!

Water Logged and Dried Up!!!

We spent a couple of beautiful days camping with our best friends, our son and his pretty girlfriend. It was a water filled four days for sure. We swam, we fished, we hiked and all it involved water. We even hiked up a river. (Our bruises and sore legs are proof!)
Best friends, son and his lady friend.

(Notice the boys watching safely on the shore!)

My wee feet.

Our next outing was to Idaho and the cabin. It was hot...hot...hot...no water except what we brought. The boys fixed the "shit shed"! It was a working holiday. Beautiful deer everywhere in the evening when the sun disappeared and the heat melted away with the day. Peaceful, calm, breeze-less. Very grateful my sister- in- law brought the shower tent!!!  Going to get one and pack it in the camper.

Mermaids

It's hot here. So to beat the heat I have been watching old films, old mermaid films. They are not easy to find, but totally worth it. What better way to fold laundry, make shopping lists and be lazy, than while a vintage mermaid flick is playing in the background. I am dreaming of having a silvery tail and playing in a nice cold lake. Not hiding inside because it is 100' degrees outdoors!!!

(She is the same actress who plays the mom in Mary Poppins, isn't she beautiful!)
This movie was awesome! She kidnaps men because she thinks they have beautiful legs!!! Ha!
That's one smart fish.

Loved Miranda. It was on Netfix to my surprise!

She sings and eats raw fish!!!

 Her underwater "love" cave!

Mad About Men is the sequel to Miranda. Look at that Art Deco bath tub!
Not as good as the first one but really we are talking about an old mermaid movie.
This one I am still trying to find. I love William Powell!

Think I need to go back to the lake!
