Oh Hitchcock

I am a huge Hitchcock fan. I have watched and re-watched all of his films. (Except Marnie, I can't bring myself to watch it...don't know why, just can't.) Between Christmas and New Years my sweet Toddy was so sick I had a lot of free time on my hands. I watched television, cleaned, folded laundry and watched more television. One late evening a movie called The Net came on. It is a 1995 low budget new age computer  flick starring Sandra Bullock. Well Sandra Bullock is my girl crush so I watched on. It was bad. The dialog was dorky, the computers the size of an apartment washing machine and the leading male nameless. One scene caught my eye... here it is.
Excuse the low quality. Notice the character Devlin (HINT) puts a handkerchief around her tummy because she is cold. Bells are ringing by this time. The name is familiar. Devlin. With the help of my older sister we figured it out. Devlin....Mr CARY GRANT does the same thing to INGRID BERGMAN in Notorious! Well I guess if you are going to steal you might as well steal something good, right?? Here is the original. Cary Grant does it so much better.
So here's to Hitch! Thanks for making me think outside the box last Friday night!

Mermaids

It's hot here. So to beat the heat I have been watching old films, old mermaid films. They are not easy to find, but totally worth it. What better way to fold laundry, make shopping lists and be lazy, than while a vintage mermaid flick is playing in the background. I am dreaming of having a silvery tail and playing in a nice cold lake. Not hiding inside because it is 100' degrees outdoors!!!

(She is the same actress who plays the mom in Mary Poppins, isn't she beautiful!)
This movie was awesome! She kidnaps men because she thinks they have beautiful legs!!! Ha!
That's one smart fish.

Loved Miranda. It was on Netfix to my surprise!

She sings and eats raw fish!!!

 Her underwater "love" cave!

Mad About Men is the sequel to Miranda. Look at that Art Deco bath tub!
Not as good as the first one but really we are talking about an old mermaid movie.
This one I am still trying to find. I love William Powell!

Think I need to go back to the lake!
