A Scary Little Tale....

Just finished a really good (kind of creepy) young adult book called, far far away by TOM McNEAL.
This book sucked me in, chewed me up and spit me out! It was a great read. A little scary, dark and contained a great ghost. Think "Brothers Grimm", and you got it. The back cover states... "this is a strange and fateful tale of a boy, a girl and an ancient ghost." Read it, it was awesome!

Trapped...

I am trapped within the pages of a great book, and I don't really want to get out. My teenage boy asked me to read it and it seems to be getting under my skin. I should be cleaning out the coop, transplanting seedlings and putting up that new fence...but instead I am reading. I can't even give any detail out about the book just in case someone may want to read it. I find myself constantly thinking how my interpretation of this book differs from my son's. I can't wait to finish it and then we can sit down and talk about it.
So much is happening here...prom, wisdom teeth, new back-splash in the kitchen and the possibility of a second car may be in our future....but for now I will go ignore the laundry and dishes and go bury my nose in the book!

Sweet Potato Queens... say what?

This has been a long winter for me. I have now been on antibiotics 5 times since October and am really tired of being sick. No complaints from me on this blog so moving right along... I was at the library on Tuesday and a book fell right into my arms. No really it did, that is one of the benefits of being very short, things are always falling on you. The Sweet Potato Queens Book Of Love by Jill Conner Browne. Well now what can I say about this book....hummm I stopped reading my other book to read it and found myself laughing out loud and turning around and making sure no one was watching me laugh at the sometimes inappropriate jokes and comments. This book is helping chase the winter blues away. Now I am a Northern girl so all these southern images she conjures up really scare me a little, but what the heck it is a great little read. Some of the titles of her books crack me up! Check out the website!

Has anyone ever read these books before?

Dead and Gone

I finally held still enough to read Dead and Gone. I liked it. I have to admit I still have a soft place for Bill and hopes he pops in the next book Harris writes. Also I am guilty..... I did order HBO so I could watch True Blood and even though season 1 was not exactly the same as the books, I still liked it and season 2 so far has left me one the edge of my chair... or should I say on the edge of my couch!!!
