It happens every year when the winter sets in . The bigger than life snowballs standing by the dozens in school yards. Driving and seeing them at night can produce a creepy feeling that always makes me smile. I love seeing them. I love thinking about how many little hands it took and how many recesses it took to create the pods of snow. I always wonder if someone put a scarf or a mitten in the center of the ball and will check on it daily for signs of life as the great balls begin to melt. In the spring, when the grass turns green you can still see evidence of the beasts.

I wish for some snow this year. We got a good dose of it last year but it is rare for us to get snow this far south. It is so pretty isn't it.
WOW! Has been years.... awesome!
Let's just hope there's no kid in there!
You have "pods" of snow and I have none. Life is just not fair.
I was thinking giant creatures coming out at night to play soccer. Have you checked for footprints?
I have visions of someone rolling a snowball to a different place every couple of days - where will it turn up next? Sorta like the traveling gnome, but I suggest it stays in its own neighborhood.
It looks like some kids enjoyed the snow you have. I hope we get some before Christmas.
I remember those!
we used to make snow caves......I still remember them....such fun!
