Art...

I have been busy working on handmade Christmas items. My bedroom has a long table filled with art, jams, jellies, salsa and sewing projects. Here is a sneak peak!
This last one is for a swap....it is entitled "Orange Kitty". So I have found a new love: oil pastels! I love how rich and dense the colors are. I love using my fingers and smearing the colors together, now I just wish I had a box that contained more than 12 colors.
These last 3 pics are a sneak peak at my Assemblage Art Shrine I am making for a swap. The pictures aren't that good but after all it is just a sneak peak ;o)

Hey girl! What kind of oil pastels are you working with? The stuff you can heat to dry, right? I did a portrait of my son in oil pastels at least 10-11 yrs ago, it still smears. Was pretty unhappy about that.

What is the heart with the dagger coming down from the top symbolize? The reason I ask, I have an old white gold ring with that and never could find out what it was about.

You have sure been busy!

I love them! So creative, the colors are well chosen too.
I haven't worked with oil enough to consider myself nailing the technique, I think I should look into it!

What fun Christmas can be when someone gives something hand made.

The colors from the oil pastels are so rich. I can see why you like them! Maybe Santa will bring you more colors...

Can't wait to see your assemblage shrine. :0)

the best part about oil pastels is the texture in your hand!

I am so lost with words. You are so wonderfully creative and versatile with it too.
