Stuffed Church and a Raspberry Tart!

In all the time we have taken the curvy little canyon road to the cabin, how could this stuffed church escaped my eyes??? There it stood, back off the road about a quarter mile. I saw the 2 chimneys from the car and my sweet hubby turned right around and took us up a dusty unpaved road. It was so worth it!!!

1950's truck nestled inside a church filled with a hay.
Talk about a re-purposed building!!!

After canning raspberry jam I had some raspberries left, so into some homemade pie crust they went and we had raspberry tarts!!!

I understand stuffing the tarts with raspberries but what is a "stuffed church"? Do you mean that it was stuffed with an old car and hay? Is this California girl being dense?

Yes farmlady the church was stuffed to it's rafters with hay! Hehehehe!

Where the heck do you live that you just go down the road and come across an abandon house or church or something? I would kill to spend a day doing that..but NO...I'm freakn' surrounded by Starbucks. And the tarts look divine. Gonna make an apple pie tomorrow since Raquel is gone and I have no purpose...lol

Hmmm, I got some lovely raspberries and blueberries I froze the other day as the boy doesn't eat them fresh. I was considering jam but I may actually make some raspberry turnovers. Inspired! thanks!

Such a sweet church! There used to be a grand old southern farmhouse, on the way to Savannah, I used to tell DH, I wanted to buy that place, as the years went by, I noticed the windows were getting broken and then finally, it was filled with hay. One day we saw they were shoving that once beautiful home, over and it looked so sad. Thanks for the pictures of the church!

Raspberry tarts, they look good!

Welcome to my blog!

Great idea about the tarts, Missy! Have to do that when the second batch of raspberries come through! Made 24 jars of raspberry jam with the 1st batch of raspberries! It has been a busy season. The stuffed church is very cool as well!
