Stripping On A Wednesday Night!

Strip piecing that is. You know, in the quilting sense....tee hee. I am afraid if it were the "take your clothes off stripping" I wouldn't participate because I am getting over a three week illness. I wouldn't like to catch a chill, and to get dressed so I would have something to take off would be too much work! A friend of the family is having a baby soon, so I made a bug jar quilt for her. I have to admit the colors are a little bright for me, but I didn't choose the fabric. I am happy with the way it turned out. One of my favorite ways to bind a quilt is with peeko's. I think they give the quilt a little bling, and who doesn't want bling. Now I am in the mood for some serious quilting, hence the strip piecing. I am currently working on a Double Irish Chain in greens and creams. I can't wait to see it finished. I may actually keep this one, but we will see. I love giving them away, it makes me feel like I am sending a little bit of love to someone. Okay, back to peeko's. They sort of remind me of the Tibetan Prayer Flags... I might have an idea cooking here. Each flag represents a blessing or has a prayer or mantra written on it. I can almost envision one hanging in my gourd patch, all the pretty colors, beautiful words, wishes and blessings...I wonder where I might buy kite fabric??? Can you see where this is going? I can't wait for spring!

That is a very cute quilt. I haven't heard of the bug jar pattern before. Just right for a child! I am a fairly new quilter. I'll have to search around and learn more about the peeko trim.

It is a little bright, but perfect for a baby quilt. You are so talented at so many things!

Dang! I haven't even read your post yet, but saw your title and expected to see clothes flying! Now, let me go back and read and get my mind out of the gutter!

Cool. I love the bug jar quilt. I have lots of bug fabrics. Oh, I have some beautiful butterfly fabric, but it is very bright. You want some? I'll send you photos. I'm trying to clean out my stash, so please take me up on my offer. I need to know more about peeko. Where did you learn about this and how does it take the place of binding.
