Housewife on fire and cleaning...

Spring is now here and I have a burning desire to get things in order. Each spring I make a new job list (not usually a list person but...) and this year I actually like the list. I used quite a few pin up girls and retro adds etc to add some bling and of course I made them teenager proof so there can be no misunderstandings on what needs to be done. I thought I would share. It starts with a weekly calendar then there is one for each room in the house. Idiot proof I promise! I do not follow everything exactly because I am just not that kind of a girl, but it makes for a great outline. Boy all that planning I am pooped, I think I will just have to take today off. (Just a note- no outside work is on the list  like chickens, garden, watering, lawn care etc I just plan on spending about 2-3 hours a day outside and it gets covered.)

I'm all worn out now - I have to rest. That is a lot of work. I try not to do that much stuff.

My kitchen has to clean or I want cook. I only have to cook for me so I usually let myself have the night off. There are some things that I just have to have done.

Very creative! I might need to drag my notebook from room to room myself! We need a major de-crapping!

Hi Missy, I love a list....and it's the only way I ever truly get things done. I have taught myself to live in the moment and as wonderful as that is, I tend to fall into the day and take what comes, and things that ought to get done - things that are fallling desperately behind, never get the attention. So lists are a way to keep on track without thinking about it too much, all the while, taking part in the day and what it brings. I love what you did to your lists. I once hosted workshops and one of the things I always encouraged women to do (who believed themselves to be NOT creative) was to make every thing they did, somehow more artistic. Doodle on the grocery lists, get out the markers and make them fun. Stuff like that. Simple. And each week we would share what uniqe ways we found to add art to the everyday. So when I saw your charts / lists all done up, I was so excited and just had to write you this wee book! Love your spring ideas...

Cute lists! I think it will help me get motivated to clean the house! It is raining anyway, no outside work today.
I hope your bread tastes good. I forgot to mention the Dutch oven needs to be preheated. I have been playing with the fours and yesterday I used flaxseed flour and wheat germ because I didn't have whole wheat and just before baking it, I added sunflower seeds and folded the dough. Spray a bit of water on top of the dough before you bake. It makes the crust even crispier.

I like your lists. When I was a stay at home mom, I remember having cards in a file that I used to try to keep up with housework. I had gotten the method from a book. I haven't done that for a long time.

I love the photo of your chickens in the dirt.

Thanks for your comment about my kitchen. I'm having fun with it.

I like your job lists.

One thing I don't have to do up here is clean cobwebs as it's too cold for spiders, but in the warmer months there are lot of flies, and it's then that you wish that we did in fact have a few spiders around!
