I am making pies for my hubby's birthday. I am making my Tipsy Bourbon Chocolate Pecan Pie. It is so good and so bad for you. It makes my house smell wonderful. Here is the recipe.
Ingredients
- 1 (9 inch) pie shell
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup butter
- 4 eggs, beaten
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 6 ounces semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Directions
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees F).
- In a small saucepan combine sugar, corn syrup, and butter or margarine. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until butter or margarine melts and sugar dissolves. Cool slightly.
- In a large bowl combine eggs, bourbon, vanilla, and salt. Mix well. Slowly pour sugar mixture into egg mixture, whisking constantly.Stir in pecans, and put chocolate chips in pie shell. Pour mixture into pie shell over the chocolate.
- Bake in preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes, or until set and golden. May be served warm or chilled.

Hi Missy, mmmmm that pie looks really enticing! I will have to give the recipe a go....my hubby who rarely eats desserts, loves pecan pie. Might even try a gluten free version!
I wanted to let you know that the cleanse you were asking about is from Quantum Wellness - a really amazing obvious natural read, about food and wellness. It just makes sense, and feels right. But maybe it would be a bit drastic for some, who have not done a cleanse or two before. I have had to give up various foods from allergies over the past while, so this wasn't that big a jump for me. But you do give up a lot. Caffeine, alcohol, sugar, dairy, animal products, and gluten. 21 days. You get back to eating a lot of whole foods - it's a plant based diet. And I am really finding my entire life shifting, since getting back on board with this. So much so, that when it could have ended at the three week mark, I decided to maybe live this way for a bit....see what's next. I am finding I eat for nourishment and not so much for escape any more. Highly recommend this for anyone looking to awaken...further.
Happy First Day of Spring!
I like all those things! The house smelling good, tipsy pies and good music. The pie sounds yummy!
OOh thanks , I'll give the music a listen to. In the 70s my parents used to hire out the village hall with a few other couples for dances & parties- all brought food / music etc...the long flowery dresses & flares were fab !
Anyway, Mum used to make a sherry trifle & a Grandma's Tipsy cake - & then wonder why people got sozzled !
Great fun
ooh ! I like them ! Love the Video - but slightly eerie I think.
Hubby might like them. He loves Amy MacDonald & plays her first cd ALL THE TIME ... thenk godness she has finally brought out a second !
Joe calls her " washing up music " because when he & hubby are washingup - that's the cd he will put on..
