Late winds and early mornings.

Last night the wind blew and blew. I watched my son chase around the lawn chairs, fish nets and the random bags of feed,and got quite a laugh at him. He was so sweet to worry and being the fixer he is, he went right off to work. Needless to say a few hens who did not want to go to sleep yet ended up having to anyway. I checked the temperate outside and it was a cool 64' so I opened all the windows and set the coffee pot for 6:00 A.M. and crawled into the bed with my book. This morning I went outside, coffee in hand, to look at, if any, the mess. It wasn't to bad. We lost about 6 big branched and pine tree needles and cones everywhere. That was the worst. My bare feet could tell the ground had been wet and am happy for the little bit of rain that must have fallen while I was asleep. I will have to have the kids help me rake when I get back from my run. It will good day. I plan on baking zucchini chocolate swirl bed and taking a trip to the library. I also need to bundle the sage and get it drying. I love my home and family. I love the work it takes to grow our own food. I call it earning my sleep, and the sleep is deep and peaceful.
