Seed Update and Fire Breathing Roosters!

Seedlings are getting bigger every day and look fabulous! Today I need to transplant Lupine's and Zina"s into bigger pots. It has been very busy here the last couple of days. My hubby received a composter for his birthday and is excited to see how it works. For years we have been composting and now we will have a small one we won't need to turn weekly with the pitch fork. We will be keeping our large compost because the new one in no way will even come close to making what we need for our gardens. In one of my back cutting-flower beds I put about 7 inches of soil down to raised it up a bit. I think I counted 18 wheelbarrows full of dirt. I hope to post some pics later in the week. Our seedlings always listen to music, I swear that it helps the plant grow. Today they are listening to Yo-Yo Ma playing Bach. It just becomes a back ground noise in our house and I don't even notice it anymore. Tonight I am taking my 16 year old daughter to see Les Miserables at a neighboring cities High School. There is a boy she likes there, enough said. At least I don't have to dress up. I don't do nylons but I do love a sexy pair of heels! I actually own a couple vintage dresses and a few modern skirts but I will go out of my way NOT to dress up. I am a blue jeans and tee-shirt kind of girl. Speaking of tee-shirts my hubby's friend it an artist and make the best tee-shirts, check out his site.http://www.michaelphipps.net/ his site is way cool and there is a fire breathing rooster if you hit the links button....hahaha!

My 16 year old just imformed me yesterday that she wants to grow corn in a little plot in the backyard...I think it's too late, but whatever..if she wants to take care of it. My yellow peppers from last August are still giving me peppers...Ughhhh! My 16 year old is too interested in heifers and lambs...she says boys are to much trouble right now...WOW...I dodged that bullet for now...lol

Your plants looks so vigorous and healthy. The music must work wonders for their growth.

Looking forward to seeing photos of the composter. And a Happy Birthday to your hubby.

I have enjoyed reading your blog! Thanks for stopping by. You have a ton of plants started, they look terrific. I like the light setup. I wondered if it was really true that plants like music, now I know it is.

I'm thinking music and home-made baked dirt makes for excellent seedlings. Yours look great! If, I post a pic of my little attempt of seeds & playing in dirt... There will be a foot note... "To see how it really should be done." Check out, ... Little Messy Missy.
