I awoke this morning to a wet cat with muddy paws on my face! Yes I did say on my face! As I sat up and scrambled for my glasses so I could see what time it was, Mr Sparkles McGee (Sparky) preceded to flop onto my pillow purring so loudly that he shook ever so lightly on the exhale. Reaching for my glasses I realized what was happening and shooed him off my once WHITE pillow case as fast as my sleeping arms would let me. Now knowing it was 3:27 in the morning and knowing I would not be able to fall back asleep because my mind was turned on, I slipped some socks on walked quietly out of my room. I chased the cat down the stairs and when he slipped into my 16 year old daughters room I quickly closed the door to trap him in. Secure in the knowledge that he was nestled in her bed and making my daughter all muddy made me laugh a little out-loud ( I am a wicked mom). Back upstairs I turned the heat up and started the coffee and the day began. Now at 6:30 pm the house is finally almost quiet, dinner is done, laundry is folded, and I am sitting alone looking out my window at the white snow that was responsible for my rude awakening this morning. It has snowed the ENTIRE day and when the temperature drops tonight it will stick. The flakes are getting thicker and the sky is growing gray... I can hear my bed calling me but before I sleep tonight I think I will lock the pet door...

Cute story, I'm an evil Momma too. LOVE IT!
Oh my gosh, you are a trooper to just get up for the day - at that hour! Wow. I love the photo of the snowy blue sky....crazy weather!
Thank you so much Missy for sending me The faithful gardner...that was just the kindest thing to happen to a girl up here in Canada! It was a real gift, right down the the wrapping. I guess what I"m trying to say is when it arrived I was so excited - getting a gift by mail - well it felt so good...and as I unwrapped it, I could feel your intentions...and I so received them Missy. Right down to your card, with the gal on....you are so creative and I love your style. Again, you made my week...I will pay it forward ;)

Oops... sorry you have missed out on your rest. Hope you get a good night sleep tonight. Funny muddy kitty and Mom. I Like the quiet times when I can contemplate alone with no chance of interruption.
Snowing? and I thought we had it bad here....cute story!

Yarni Gras, yup real photo. I have 5 100 year old pines out back and there look fabulous in the snow.
