The Ladies!
Right now we have seven laying hens and three teenagers. Eggs have slowed down to only one or two a day even with the golf balls in the boxes. Spring is around the corner and then I can start making quiche and cakes! Next in the agenda is seed starting. We need to purchase a couple more lights to accommodate both the veggies and the flowers I have added this year. We have officially finished all of last seasons zucchini and canned tomatoes, we still have plenty of jams, jellies, green beans, salsa, pickled jalapenos and green peppers! I have a half a dozen gourds drying to make into bird houses and am looking forward to trying the luffa gourd again. I am feeling the need to be outside and when it is only 20* I really can't be out more then thirty minutes. I have been thinking about going snow shoeing... we will just have to wait and see.

I have a bunch of hens that should be laying, and I'm getting zero eggs. I've gotten none since before Thanksgiving. You're doing better than me!

Hello there! Oh my gosh this Universe is so small really...Just tonight my good friend and I were researching inner city regulations for chicken coops - she really wants to build one and bring that goodness to town! And an hour later I delve into your blog to find - yes indeed, you raise chickens! Beautiful. We will be back to see your lovelies.....
Good to meet you....
