bottles, bottles, bottles and not a drop to drink

I have been very busy canning everything we grew in our gardens. I have made Jalapeno Jelly, Pickled Peppers, Plum Jelly, Apricot Jam, Grape Jelly, tomatoes, honey, and loads and loads of salsa! It has been a great year and I have the bounty to prove it. Most of this will be Christmas gifts but what we do eat we savor and give thanks to the earth. I only had two orange pumpkins this year both of which I made into Twilight Pumpkins and auctioned them off at my daughter's Jr. High School. Both sold for around $60.00 a piece! I have three white pumpkins but they look really bad- I think they crossed with my watermelons. I only came out with a dozen or so bird house gourds and look forward to carving them in the spring after they have hung in my garage until they have dried out. All in all a good year. I put the gardens to sleep two days before the first snow and am happy I don't have to go do it now. My new chickens are not laying yet and still need some new straw for their beds but I have winterized their coop already. My son left the food can open and when I went out this morning to bring them fresh water the two biggest ones were sitting inside eating to their hearts content... it was funny seeing two large hens in the food bucket just clucking away with full beaks!

I love your labels, they are so cute. And those kids holding chickens sure are adorable. Not that I'm biased or anything.
