What do you suppose a girl like me does when she see a very old and very abandoned school house in the middle of nowhere???
I climbed inside and took pictures!
And now onto the bloody fingers. I will NOT post a picture. I will spare you!! I got a call from my son. The son that is away at camp working for the summer. The call came in at 10:30 PM and I was outside in the back turning off hoses. The first thing he said was, "Mom don't worry". It turned out he almost took the entire top of one finger off and they were driving him to the nearest hospital 35 min away. He ended up with stitches and some pain medicine and back to camp he went. Boys!!!!! Jeeeeeeeez!!!!

that is the coolest schoolhouse....i love the wood floor.....
boys do stuff like that all the time.......
Glad to hear you son is ok. Neat to see inside the old building. Color tv? The box people strike again.
I hope your son's finger is better soon! I'd never have made a good nurse because wounds and injuries give me the willies.
Yikes, Missy! Dreaded calls from camp! I just wanted to come home! I hated to swim with the dead fish in the lake! I hear you will survive these episodes! I don't have first hand experience, but I do remember my accident prone childhood!
Yes indeed, boys!!!!! ;) Sorry for his injury - I have my own memories of what it is like to have a boy. I was just talking to another blogger friend on the same subject of injuries and having boys, and the grey hairs we get as they grow into manhood.
You are very brave climbing into the old abandoned house, but I applaud you for it. It is something I would like to do coming across a place like that in the middle of nowhere and getting such wonderful photographs. What stories that old house could tell.
Thanks for stopping by my blog.

I never find old abandoned houses like that were I am, but it sure would be a find. What you tend to find here are abandoned mine shafts, and they definitely aren't fun when found by surprise. Not safe to explore either. The school house is awesome though. Was that a for sale sign I saw on the outside??
I would have freaked out but I know how boys are having 3 grandsons. He sounds like a tuff kid...you did good mom. And I would have ventured into that old structure too...looks like fun.

Those are cool pictures of the abandoned house. You are brave!
My brother lopped off his fingertip when he was a teenager too. Boys.
Hope your son recovers okay.
When you get a call that starts out.."don't worry"..well, that's not going to happen..terrific..thanks!!
every time I drive past that old school house I wanted to go into it, so awesome to kinda see in it, was there anything good for the picking?
its so hard to help them when they are miles and miles away. james rip part of one of his fingers off, while carring a ladder, it shut on his finger. i hope adam will survive. theres only 3 wks and six days left.
I've always been taken with abandoned buildings. I love the old chairs inside.
Ok, I would be finding out if any of that stuff in the school is for the taking...I saw the cute little chair....oooh, you must have been a good girl....or maybe you don't want to admit it!!!
I'm a sissy - I'd be afraid of all the giant, creepy bugs in an abandoned building. But I'd take plenty of pics of the outside.
Glad your boy is alright. Nothing phases them much!
I would give you $200 to take me into that old, abandonned school house! how cool!
Oh what a cool group of photos you have here .... abandonment makes for great pictures! hehee.e...
and eeeek! hope your boy is feeling alright....
i must thank you for not showing any photos of that!
