Best Ever Jalapeno Poppers
(Baked Not Fried!)
Ingredients
- 2 (12 ounce) packages ground sausage ( I use spicy Jimmy Dean)
- 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
- 30 jalapeno chile peppers
- 2 pound sliced bacon, cut in half
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese
- chives
Bake *350 for about 40-50 minutes or until sausage is cooked. (I broil them for about 5 minutes when they are done cooking so the bacon gets crisp.)
((I also put the cheese & sausage filling inside button or portabella mushrooms!!!))
BEST EVER!!!!

Sounds like some spicy goodness here. I can't eat super hot stuff but my husband would get into these. Thanks for sharing this recipe.
My husband would LOVE those! Thanks for the recipe.
Oh snap! These look beyond tasty. You had me at bacon.
OMG...these look so delish. Too bad I can't eat stuff like this anymore...but I like looking at it.

These look an awful lot like "atomic buffalo turds", ewww I am so sorry I said that, but it is true. My son has been begging me to make them ever since he found them on youtube by accident no less. they look the same except the Jalapenos are stuffed with a mixture of cream cheese and cayenne pepper, and then you stick a little smokie inside. after that you wrap it in bacon and put them on the bbq. the other name I have heard for them is armadillo eggs. If you swap a habanero for the jalapeno you then have an atomic dragon turd. Just thought that I would share. thanks for your recipe I think I can make these and not be embarrassed by the name. plus I like sausage much better than smokies!!!
oooh - those look delicious!!! I've been wanting to do homemade poppers for a while.
OMG!! Those look so GOOD!! YUM! And what a simple recipe.
Some of my jalapeƱos are close to being ripe. I think I will try this recipe when they are ready. Hubby will love 'em!
